Congresswoman Beth Van Duyne shared updates on patient care, student safety, and local manufacturing in a series of posts on September 26, 2025.
In her first post, Van Duyne addressed the Food and Drug Administration regarding patient access to Desiccated Thyroid Extract (DTE), stating on September 26: “I urged the FDA to protect patient access to Desiccated Thyroid Extract (DTE), a treatment that has been in hypothyroidism care for over a century. Patients deserve certainty, not confusion, about their care.” She included a link to her letter directed at the agency.
Later that day, Van Duyne commented on an incident involving students at the University of Texas at San Antonio. On September 26, she wrote: “Students deserve to hold a vigil in peace. Thankful for the swift action of the police at UT San Antonio, and to the Southwest Texas Fusion Center at the San Antonio Police Department for keeping the students safe.”
She also attended an event highlighting American manufacturing. In her final post of the day, dated September 26, Van Duyne said: “I had the chance to join Naterra yesterday for the ribbon cutting of their new facility in Fort Worth. Naterra is truly an example of the American dream and a shining example of the success of American-based manufacturing, as they have been producing products in the U.S. since”
Beth Van Duyne represents Texas’s 24th congressional district and has won multiple elections since 2020. In 2024, she defeated Sam Eppler with approximately 60% of the vote; in 2022 she prevailed over Jan McDowell with nearly 60%, and in 2020 she narrowly won against Candace Valenzuela.
