Congresswoman Beth Van Duyne, who represents Texas’s 24th congressional district, shared updates on border security and community engagement through her social media posts on July 17, 2025.
In a post from July 17, Van Duyne stated: ” We saw a record low number of border encounters nationwide in June, and for the second month in a row there were 0 releases!” This comment follows ongoing national debates about immigration enforcement and border policy.
Later that day, she highlighted a meeting with a local constituent: “I had a great meeting with Guru Sashank Aroul, a #TX24 resident visiting D.C. with Autism Speaks. We spoke about his passion for advancing education in the autism community and the incredible work he’s already doing, all while still in high school! He even shared a copy of the”. Autism Speaks is an advocacy organization focused on promoting solutions for individuals with autism and their families.
In another post on July 17, Van Duyne addressed organized crime at the southern border: “All cartels are terrorist organizations. Take them down!” The classification of drug cartels as terrorist organizations has been part of broader discussions regarding U.S. security policy.
Van Duyne has previously emphasized issues related to border security and public safety during her tenure in Congress. Her district includes parts of Dallas and Tarrant counties in Texas.
